Notes: In 2014 I created the UK version of Gambling Jasper Johns by using the UK greyhound number and color code. Later on I created this US version using the US horseracing number and color code. Back in the 60s Pop artist Jasper Johns created a work titled 0 through 9, so it wasn’t too much of a leap for me to create this version using racing codes. The codes are foundational in the evolution of my art practice and underpin many of the works I have created over the past 20 years. The ‘0’ in both works represent the ‘0’ on a roulette wheel, or house advantage.
A limited issue print on archival paper at frame size: 34×44cm and image size: 25.5×34cm. Signed and dated on the front, with two studio stamps on verso. The print is presented unmounted in a simple black wooden frame with Perspex front, ready to hang, and will arrive in a sturdy cardboard wrap.
